Fortunately, it is not going to be used in the desktop computer anyways. ![]() This is a straight up driver issue with no resolution at this time other than to remove the card completely. If it is reinstalled after the upgrade, the machine does a BSOD and never boots correctly. Once the card is removed, everything works. There is no updated driver for this card that works either. Now, the only way to get the Windows 8.1 upgrade to install is to remove the card completely. It would cause the computer to BSOD during the Windows 8.1 upgrade and revert back to Windows 8. On a brand new HP Envy desktop, a Ralink RT3290 wireless adapter was installed. Let me start by saying and make this clear: This is NOT a bash Windows 8.1 thread! Ok, now that it is out of the way, this is a heads up for anyone running into this problem.
